Don't you usually have to win the nomination first to pick a running mate?

No you are free to pick who you want to announce to the world is your choice for veep anytime you feel so inclined. Free country. You still seem to want to argue a moot point.

So who do you think would be a wise running mate selection?

Hi,

I have placed your blog as a link on my Mitt website and would like to see if you would place a link to my Mitt Romney website.

Please let me know what you think.

Also feel free to forward this to whomever you think would be interested in it.

I think he should pick Hillary if she doesn't win the Dem's nomination. Going across party lines like that would ensure that he win the presidency against anyone.

But she will probably win the dem's nomination and then a smart move for her would be to pick Barak Hussein Osama Obama. What do you think Nevik?

How about Orin Hatch or John Hunstman as VP? You know being a Mormon, he's going to stack the deck with Mormons.

But that could be a good thing, considering most Mormons are good people. I'd rather have a Mormon in office than the likes of peole like Hillary or McCain or a Islamic radical sympathizer like Obama.

To anonymous:

Yes I do comment, but I usually am able to check this site only once a day. As far as your statement about him "stacking the deck with Mormons" because he is one, I dont see that being the case, nor was it during his governorship. However your statement smacks a bit of bigotry or ignorance toward Mormons.

To mittreport:

I am not the one who runs this site, I was simply invited to post here. Your idea of link exchange is a good one and I will email the dude whose site this is with that. Of course he will likely see this exchange anyhow.

To Adelaide:

I am sure that Hellary and Iraq Hussein Osama will be running together in short order. I think this whole thing between them right now is a game to build their names, but they want a black and a woman running because they feel it is an unbeatable combo. Regardless of policy, liberals are obsessed with race, gender, sexuality and religious identity. I hope it does not play out that way, but I sense it may very well.

Ted Nugent is a great selection for running mate! However in his absence we will have to find someone else.

nevik, you are smoking crack. or maybe your crack is smoking. nothing I have said is bigoted or ignorant. I simply stated my opinion. Ted Nugent for a running mate? you are nuts. Your attitude and smart%$# comments chase people from this site. No wonder you have barely anyone blogging on here.

adelaide, you are a breath of fresh air.

It's ignorant to call a Mormon a Mormon?

I would tell Romney to pick Condi Rice, Jeb Bush, or Lynn Swan for his V.P.!

Hello my fellow Romney supporter! I'm sharing information with you regarding two Websites that often run straw polls - PLEASE, I urge you to e-mail all your Romney friends and share this with them as well! On the first site - inform your friends to vote in all THREE categories - there's a monthly, weekly and junk poll, so, people will have to remember to log in once every week to vote for Mitt; they'll have to scroll down to find his name in the search fields:

www.strawpoll08.com

www.gopbloggers.org

If I find any other polls, I'll share them with you, and vice versa.

Thanks!

Jacosta

My point is this, where do you get the impression that Mitt will "stack the deck" with Mormons just because he is one? His track record has not shown that to be the case. As far as me having a "smart a## attitude", that to me is what a statement sounds like when someone says mitt is going to "stack the deck" with members of his own faith, when there is nothing factual to back that up with. The term "stack the deck"is a gambling term that implies cheating. Are you saying mitt is likely to cheat in his candidacy? What do you mean?

And by the way, the whole Uncle Ted Nugent thing was a joke. I suppose I dont exactly have the keenest sense of humor. Though in all seriousness I would like to see the motor city madman run for some political office someday. I find him to be an incredibly interesting soul, and a great asset to what is left of wildness in the American Psyche.

My actual idea of a great running mate could be Governor Matt Blunt of Missouri, or Condi if she would ever accept.

And by the way, it is not ignorant to call a Mormon a Mormon. I suppose I should have been more clear as to my point. My problem was with the whole "stack the deck, because he is mormon" thing. THAT smacks of being an asinine statement. This was my point.

Is it ignorant to call an asinine statement as such?

Honestly I am not trying to be cantankerous about this, I want people to blog here about Romney and Washington State, I just felt that a particular comment needed to be called out onto the carpet.

I certainly hope I have not chased anyone from this site, but the nature of discussion is that comments will be challenged if not agreed with, and that should go both ways. This is political football.

I will strive to keep the dialogue civil, and hope all of you will as well.

My hope is that the entire Mitt candidacy is known as being such, and will be a sharp contrast to the negative politics as usual.

Optimism is what ought to be a distinguishing feature of Mitt's campaign and his supporters.

Hey Kevin, How about another topic. This one is stagnant.

Yes, I agree. New Topic. New Topic. New topic. How about if Romney chooses Condie Rice as VP, do you think that would attract the black voters or further alienate them?

Mitt Romney is a disgrace to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and everything it stands for. His hypocrisy is second to none, as his record as governor of Massachusetts proves. He has tarnished the good name of "Romney."

Maybe Huckabee would be a good vp. He's got the charm for it. Mitt has the undeniable competence, and it would be cool to have a vp again with a little coolness after, basically forever. Mitt could send him off to Meet the Press, or to a hunting trip and not wonder if something bad is going to happen.

BTW. I had seen Mitchell's picture earlier, and had suspected it. But Mitch is the brother of my good friend Kenny. Howdy Mitch. Keep posting on this blog dude. You're doing a great job. I wish I could be as consistent as you were for quite a stretch there.

I actually was up in Olympia over thanksgiving, and thought about calling you guys, but things got busy and I didn't reach out. But it turns out that your parents moved anyway so... That's how it goes. Anyway, keep posting.

I think Mitch is SSSOOOO adorable with that granite like chin and slicked back hair. Of course he doesn't have anything between the ears as far as a brain goes but man he still looks SSSooo presidential, doesn't he?

Yeah, I agree. As a fellow Mormon I can't stand the idea that he doesn't wear the Jesus underwear we are all supposed to wear. You know the kind - the uniform to let us get into heaven..
